Open Studio Tour 2009

For these two weekends, Michele will open her studio to the public. Meet Michele in person, talk with her about art, and see both recently completed paintings and paintings in progress. Michele will also provide displays describing her process, such as photos of paintings in various stages of development and an open palette where you can see how she selects and mixes colors.

This is a wonderful opportunity to find the perfect original painting for your home while learning about the painting from the artist herself!

The way to Michele's studio will be well marked for these 2 weekends with friendly, green Open Studio signs.

September 10 - 27

Galerie Plein Aire hosts an art show that benefits Redwings Horse Sanctuary on Sunday, September 27 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This event features a silent auction with a subsequent online auction, and 50% of the profit goes to Redwings, and 50% goes to the artist. Wine and finger foods will be served. Galerie Plein Aire is located in Carmel on Dolores between 5th and 6th. The exhibition will include three of Michele's original oil paintings portraying horses in pastoral settings.

King's Mountain Art Fair in Woodside, CA

Michele will be returning again to her favorite outdoor show. The ambiance of this mountain redwood setting, the friendliness of the organizing staff, and the supportive art community make this a unique festival.

Book Release Party - The new book, Impressions of the Natural World, by Michele LaMontagne Hausman, is being released this summer, and she'll be hosting a party in her studio in Soquel for her friends and collectors in late August. This 120 page book presents a broad sampling of Michele's landscape oil paintings, along with writings by the artist. Over 100 full color illustrations are included. Email Michele to locate a copy near you, or to order direct from her studio.

Weekend at Wisteria, in Soquel, CA
1pm to 5 pm each afternoon

Michele will be in the gardens both days at Wisteria French Country Art and Antiques, 5870 Soquel Drive in Soquel with paintings of France and California. Come by and say hi, stroll the gardens to add a new perennial to your garden, or choose a painting to create a new window in your home. Reminisce about wonderful excursions into the French countryside.

Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History's Plein Air Affaire in Santa Cruz

Michele will be joining 29 other artists as participants in the Museum's plein air celebration. The group will include artists from various media, sharing the inspiration and challenge of creating art out of doors. Artists' blank canvases are marked early Monday, July 6, and they'll then have five days to create fresh "wet paint" images.

Then, on the weekend of July 11-12, many of these "wet paint" pieces will be placed on exhibit and offered for sale in the Museum's courtyard. Additional recent paintings from the artists will also be available. For more information, please visit the Museum's website at: santacruzmah.org.
